Know your Mission
One passage states "If you want to defeat them, distract them." Another reads "divide and conquer." In the game of life there is a constant battle raging within and all around you for your attention. It's like two opposing teams wanting to occupy the same spot on the playing field. That playing field being you. Each team is wanting to control where you go, what you do, who you do it with, etc. It is ultimately the unspoken goal of each of these teams to determine what you accomplish in your lifetime. This battle is definitely a detractor from your inner peace. The only hope you have of gaining the upper hand in this struggle is to develop and establish your own agenda. To get it clearly defined and engraved in your own mind where you're going, and what you're going to accomplish. If you don't you'll no doubt be easily pulled off course or otherwise distracted as those warriors, both internal and external push and pull you to their idea of where you should be. Those who have an agenda are very clearly more efficient in their actions. They know what their mission is from day to day, month to month because it does not change with the coming of any new season. They are not easily distracted. We are reminded daily in the news of the pit falls that people and organizations run into because of being distracted in one way or another. Businesses that have established themselves through the years as being the best at whatever they're the best all of a sudden deciding, to try a different branch of business. And of course, the list of examples of personal distractions that lead to disaster is endless. The phrase stick to the knitting comes to mind. Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should. When new opportunities come along we must evaluate how they relate to the successful completion of the mission. This implies that you: Have a mission, and
Are committed to the completion of this mission. Getting clear in your mind where you're going and what you need to do to get there makes life simpler. More enjoyable. You'll act with more certainty and decision making is a breeze. Because you know where you're going it's just plain more fun. But first ? You have to know what your Mission is. And so the question for the week: What's your mission? The fact that you're reading this tells me you're on your way somewhere. Where are you on your way to? Just wondering. Thanks for tuning in. Making Excuses
I edited and re-edited my article. I had to make sure it was just so. Then I procrastinated on writing the query letter to get my article published. The house needed cleaning, I ran out of stamps, the letter wasn't quite right. Delivering the query letter to the mailbox took another week what with family, meetings and such. I had good excuses why I wasn't actively trying to get published. But, the real reason was that I was afraid I wasn't going to be good enough.

Life After Prison - The Road Home, Vanishing Dreams
The basic trauma of being locked inside of a penal institution is often overlooked. The effect this system has on a person is very hard to imagine. Along with the institutional scars, each inmate carries his own internal wounds from his personal sense of suffering and loss. The average prisoner has several weeks notice before he is released. During this time he daydreams of spending time with his children, eating "real food" surrounded by family and friends. Some even fantasize about a parade waiting for them upon their release. No more counts, lockdowns or being told what to do. In a few weeks he will show the world how wrong it was for sending him here in the first place. The average prisoner holds onto the dream of starting his own business, helping at-risk youth, and traveling the world first class.
For the next several weeks all of their thoughts are positive and productive. Never a mention of being strung out on drugs, being in any kind of trouble. Nor a thought of anything other then complete success. There are far too many horrid memories of this place to ever want to come back.
As the day approaches the family encourages him constantly that all his dreams are plausible. Having been less then nothing the last ten years of his life there is nothing he wouldn't do to maintain his freedom. Taking a walk around the big yard, he looks at the walls that cast a shadow over his life during his time here. Blocking out all the death here because it no longer belongs to him. Trying to recall the young boy who first walked in here ten years ago yet unable reclaim his innocence. That's alright though, I don't need that boy because it's over now. I beat the system; I lived to walk out of here.

We are all guilty of wanting to change our circumstances, bettering ourselves and altering our life's plans, but unfortunately a lot of us fail to see the bigger picture. In fact many of us don't even realise that there may be a bigger picture.

working in my pest control business, I meet people on an
almost daily basis who are influenced by negative fear
thoughts regarding pests invading their premises. A good
size spider, rat, or unexpected insect can set someone off

Our Future
I'm back from Hawaii; it was ten days of physical and emotional mastery.
We went from learning from twenty of the planets best speakers in their field, to being pushed physically with a fifty foot pole climb, and then,
flying fifteen feet like a free bald eagle to a hanging trapeze. These were some of the most invigorating experiences of my life.

A Surfing Lesson
I've never surfed in my life. Sometimes people tell me I look like a surfer, but never once have I been on a board out in the water. It fascinates me though. It was about a year ago that I was standing at the water's edge with a good friend. She was a surfer who had competed professionally and had hosted a surfing show on TV. We were watching surfers and I was asking questions about waves, boards, techniques, etc.
